This winter GEAR UP will provide a three day winter boot camp! Students can choose between ELAC or LATTC. ELAC will offer the following classes: Forensics and Health. LATTC will offer the following classes: Culinary and Automotive. Transportation and lunch provided! Will take place January 3rd- 5th. Please register using the google form!

requirements this Fall.

GEAR UP is hosting a College and Career day on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 9:00 am to 1:00 PM. Families of 10th and 11th graders are invited to attend for free. There will be a bus pick-up in front of each school at 8:00 AM. Families/Staff will enjoy a day of information about college access and career resources at Occidental College.

-This is a 2 night/3 day PAL event at UCLA intended for GEAR UP Peer Mentors. Get an application to participate in PAL this summer from your GEAR UP team and turn it in by May 12, 2022.

PAL’s (Peer Academic Leadership) focus is to train students to be peer counselors while developing their leadership skills while enjoying an overnight experience on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

-Este es un evento PAL de 2 noches/3 días en UCLA destinado a los mentores de compañeros de GEAR UP. Obtenga una solicitud para participar en PAL este verano de su equipo GEAR UP y entréguela antes del 12 de mayo de 2022.

CSUDH and their TRIO programs are offering a 6-week summer enrichment program, which includes a choice of college courses (for credit) and enrichment courses. Weeks 5-6 of the program will be a residential overnight component and provide the students an opportunity to experience dorm life. *candidates can be 10th or 11th grade and need to be in good academic standing, ready for college-type courses ( no Ds or Fs).*
