GEAR UP 4 LA was among several GEAR UPs from across California that had the privilege to meet with the Office of Sen. Alex Padilla during a virtual meeting on Sept. 22, when alumni, current students, and families shared their stories of how #GEARUPworks for them.
GEAR UPs across California are united in the mission to transform lives by empowering students and families to achieve their postsecondary and career goals.

As of 2020-21, 27 active GEAR UP grants serve over 55,000 students in California, preparing scholars and their families in communities across the state for success in higher education and career.
